For most motorsport fans, the rally is undoubtedly the queen of auto sports and certainly the most difficult, most demanding, most complex, but also the most dangerous discipline of auto sports, and that’s why we’re here again, just for you.
Rally is a great sport, but it can quickly become dangerous because accidents are unpredictable. With all its attractiveness and beauty, it can quickly put in danger all those who do not follow the safety warnings. That is, they do not take enough care of their safety. So be careful and constantly expect the unexpected.
For us, who participate in the organization of this significant project, the safety of all participants – competitors and their teams, spectators and photo and video recorders – is a task of the highest priority. “Only a safe rally is a good rally”, and that’s why we set the highest possible safety standards in preparing the stages for the Shakedown and the Special stage, which we continuously upgrade. Every year we try, even though we are significantly limited by the field’s topology, to increase interest in the competition. All the changes we introduce in the concept of competition result from the desire for as much attractiveness as possible, but of course, without questioning safety, where there is no room for compromises.
This year too, everyone interested has access to the service, despite the competition on the track. Such a concept proved excellent and was undoubtedly a significant element in increasing safety, and the last competitions took place without the slightest problem or incident.
The most important thing is that during the competition, you always stay within the marked and safe zones. They are valid for everyone (spectators and media members) and follow the instructions of judges, stewards and other officials along the stages.
Unfortunately, accidents involving spectators, but more often photo and video recorders, are our bitter reality and a significant threat to the reputation of rallying, as well as auto sports as a whole. It is precisely for this reason that I emphasize the message of the FIA, the umbrella automotive organization, to photo and videographers: “We need you to promote our sport, but not at any cost, and no shot is worth your life” Aware of the need to enable photo and videographers to better conditions for their activities, and this year they will be able to do so in even more special zones, reserved only for them.
I believe that Rally Show Santa Domenica today, next to the WRC Croatia Rally, is one of the brightest jewels on the crown of the queen of Croatian motoring, recognized far beyond the borders of our country. With your participation, please help us to keep it that way in the future and to influence the reputation of rally sport in the country positively and beyond, as we have shown together many times so far.
Sports regards,
Daut Damarija
