Gravel debut for Rok Turk with Ford Fiesta R5!

We have great news for all Slovenian rally fans that are planning to visit Rally Show Santa Domenica 2016. Rok Turk, one of the fastest rally drivers in Slovenia, will drive a Ford Fiesta R5. This will be his gravel debut with a R5 car.

This will be the final event for Rok Turk in a very successful 2016 season. He became Slovenian vice champion in overall classification. Even though he was competing only with a Peugeot 208 R2 front wheel car, he even managed to win the last event of the championship in Idrija.

As icing on the cake, Turk got a chance to once again drive a four wheel drive R5 car. He had this chance twice already last year. He won the last prestigious Rally Saturnus 2015. with a Peugeot 208 T16 R5, while on the second outing at Croatia Rally he had technical problems. This time he will sit in a top prepared Ford Fiesta R5. It will be a cooperation between the Italian team RB Motosport and OPV Racing Cars from Slovenia. Codriver for Turk will this time be Blanka Kacin.

Rok Turk:
“Our season is almost finished, but I’m really happy for this great opportunity. For sure, I would prefer to drive a R5 on tarmac rally, but also gravel will be a great experience. We have tested the car few times this season. We made about 50 or 60 kilometers, so I’m not a total rookie anymore. But in terms of competition, other drivers still have much more knowledge with this type of cars. I would like to prepare for a good show. If I won’t be the fastest, I would at least like to be attractive for the spectators. For sure, I plan to be focused and to get good setup. I always like to show everything I can at the current moment and this will also be the case in Sveta Nedelja and Savršćak. We hope for the best.”
