After he lost his victory at Rally Santa Domenica on the last stage of last year event, Peter Ranga (Škoda Fabia R5) this year secured his victory with the fastest time on three of four special stages. Rally Santa Domenica once again attracted a massive rally community near Sveta Nedelja and Savršćak. 121 competition crews (out of 136 in total) started on the first special stage in front of a huge number of spectators, willing to see a proper gravel rally show at the season final. From the start, it was clear that crews Peter Ranga with Tamás Szöke and Andreas Aigner with Gašper Podbregar (both in a similar Škoda Fabia R5) are the main favourites for overall victory. Decision was made already after first couple of corners. Aigner had a spin and lost 11,7 seconds to Ranga and was only fourth fastest after Ranga, Antal Kovacs and Gergő Istovics (Ford Fiesta R5) and Lazslo Ranga jun. with Imre Tóth (Škoda Fabia R5).
Ranga was slower than Austrian driver at second special stage. He won third and fourth stage (fifth stage was cancelled) and secured his victory. Ranga was of course extremelly happy after his victory. He lost it last year on the last stage for less than a second. Ranga had a winning margin of 14 seconds, while third placed Kovascs was slower for 29,9 seconds.
