As Lukas debuts in the new FIA Formula 3 at the FIA Formula 3 World Cup this week, along with the world’s best Formula One junior driver in Macau, he will be appearing on the RSSD a week later. As the third-ranked Formula One Euro 2019 season, he is currently the most successful Austrian driver in his age group. Under the experienced leadership of Ilka Minor and mentor Andreas Aigner in the Skoda Fabia R5, Lukas will tackle RSSD gravel against much more experienced opponents.
Lukas: “I have been racing for 7 years, I have always been inspired and interested in the rally. Just one week after my Formula 3 World Cup debut in Macau, I have my premiere rally in the Skoda Fabia R5. After the first tests in Fabia, I respect the challenge very much. but I’m very much looking forward to it. ”
Andreas Aigner will also be perform in the same Škoda Fabia R5, not wgoing flat out for a win but as a mentor to the Race Rent Austria youth driver. Andreas: “I look forward to imparting my driving knowledge as a mentor to Lukas. Of course, after a long break in the rally, I will devote more time to my mission in Croatia – my main task is to provide an interesting comparison in the Fabia R5 for Lukas with a pure 90 percent rhythm. This encounter is one of the few events in Europe where two drivers can compete with the same vehicle – RSSD is a great event.”
Just a reminder, Andreas Aigner is the PWRC category World Champion for 2008, and Ilka Minor is the World Champion Co-driver in 2000. when she was co-driving for Manfred Stohl.
