Mladen Alvirović is the host and editor of the SAT TV show, BMW Driving Experience NAVAK instructor – founder of the National Drivers Academy, safe driving trainer and has been involved in sports all his life.
He visited RSSD for the first time last year. His delight at what he saw, as he made a statement with a voice trembling with delight, will be remembered as one of the most emotional moments in RSSD history.
“What a weekend!!!!!!! Rally Show Santa Domenica – My first encounter with something that has become a holy place for rallysts. A holy place in Savršćak & Sveta Nedelja, more precisely Savršćak near Samobor-Zagreb. Knee-deep mud, electricity from generators, tents and awnings… But it was perfect. Imagine a big family picnic in the meadow, with rally cars instead of football and Frisbee. That’s RSSD. Over 80 crews in the most diverse machines, from Jugo, through Lada 1300, to top WRC machines. They are all brought together by more than rally love, even those who don’t have money for regular races. RSSD is a race where absolutely everyone is welcome. Both the top performers and those who have never driven a rally. So, see you next year at Santa Domenica!” declared the delighted Mladen.
And yes, Mladen keeps his promise and returns to RSSD as a driver. The experienced Igor Marković will play the role of passenger, and he will drive a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, which he described with a word that says it all – tsunami. During the preparations, he had the honour of being taught by Jarkko Miettinen, the official instructor of Toyota’s WRC Challenge program.
“I can’t be on the podium, but now I can at least guarantee my friends from RSSDa that I won’t be the last. I’m going to do the gravel :):) Maybe F1 is the fastest circus, but the rally is certainly more exciting.” – said Mladen with the submitted Entry for the rally.
